Great Pedals Now As You Want To Position Them

Asetek appears to have been attempting to recreate a race car as a sim. The “game” programs are what they are; they have improved leaps and bounds from their beginnings as console games. The real trick has been recreating the race car cockpit environment.

Not many companies until the new motor wheelbases have done so. Asetek has been a late arrival to the scene. As such, they have had an advantage in seeing what others have done. They also began with no encumbrances on design. The result has been a rather unique approach to high end sim racing.

To begin with, they have attempted to make an upgradable system. In large part they have succeeded. The Invicta’s are their top grade parts.

One can easily make a case for staying with their mid-level wheelbase, the Forte. It offers enough force feedback to be realistic. The pedals OYOH are not really top notch until you reach the Invicta level.

It is, of course, the brake that sets this set apart from all the others. Silicone offers an inventive approach but for ginormous cash. Asetek is much more reasonable. I believe the Invicta brake to be the best brake on the market - period. It has just enough adjustability to make it fit how you drive while retaining the race car brake sensation that make such brakes effective on a racetrack - yet difficult to live with on the street. There is the very small “squish” area of first applying the brakes, followed by pretty much a stone wall of a pedal as a REAL race car would be squeezing the discs. There is no “give” in such a set - only increasing pressure on a disc by the caliper pads. Asetek reproduces JUST THAT SENSATION of pressing a brick wall that a racing brake does. This is not easy for non-trained people to recognize, but it’s a characteristic of every race brake from karts to Formula 1. Learning how to effectively brake is a large part of learning to race. You will find no better brake than the Invicta.

The division of pedals into individual ones has been too long in coming. It is the logical way to set up pedals, allowing individual differences between drivers to be accommodated. I am simply surprised it took so long. Now that I’ve installed them, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
